299/365: High Hanging Spider

Today I tagged along with the OSU Photography club to the top of the OSU Edmon Low Library tower. We didn’t go all the way to the steeple staircase, but we did get out on the little balcony that’ below the round window.

It’s a nice sized balcony up their, and although you could see a long way I was more interested in the small details up there. There are two old organs that used to play with the bells. Now they still sit there, but theirs a nice little machine that plays the tunes.

There were also a lot of old degraded material up their, its kind of that out of sight out of mind thought I believe.

One thing that caught my eye, and the eyes of a lot of other photographers in the group was this daredevil of a spider. He was hung out between some pillars of the balcony hanging above a five-story drop.

I used a extension tube on the 70-200 to bring the focus in for the spider, and then nearly blinded myself getting the sun in the background.

Nice one, quite dramatic with the sun like that.
